As you know, NIKONOS was first launched in Japan in August 1963. Nippon Kogaku developed NIKONOS as an All-Weather Camera for its highly water-tight, pressure-resistant, and corrosion-resistant properties. And other durable mechanisms not achieved by any other cameras.

Have you ever seen a white NIKONOS? It's a very elegant and rare camera with a white rubber exterior.

The Nikon Museum's exhibition explanation panel is as follows:

The color of the exterior rubber parts of this camera were changed from black to white to make it easier to find if it was dropped in the ocean. This is one of the earliest NIKONOS model cameras, and only a few were manufactured.
