King of the Lens

One of the more exotic and rare lenses for the Ultra-Micro-Nikkor series. The Ultra-Micro-Nikkor 125mm F2.8 consisted of seven elements set in a heavy weight and black painted fat barrel. The Ultra-Micro-Nikkor 125mm F2.8 used 72mm accessories. A Nikon 72mm filter is just fit to her. You can see very beautiful and gorgeous coating on the lens.

Lens Serial Number

In 2018 a special exhibition of Ultra Micro Nikkor lenses was held at the Nikon Museum in Tokyo. The exhibition was held from April 3rd 2018 to June 30th 2018.
You can get detailed information on UMN Nikon Museumn Report .

I was interested in prototype of Ultra Micro Nikkor 125mm F2.8 lens. The manufacturing serial number for that lens was No. 930102. Apparently, it seems that it started from No. 930101. The manufacturing serial number of the lens I own is No. 930371. Probably it is roughly the 270th lens.

Old Lens is Not Old

The following images were taken with a compact digital camera in December 2001. I used an old and low-performance camera. However, the images are very powerful and beautiful also now. That's why I still want to show you these images.

I mounted the Ultra Micro Nikkor 125mm F2.8 on Nikon Z 6 and took the following pictures. The UMN 125mm F2.8 lens produce very excellent images at long distances.
