Nikon Model H Field Microscope

I would like to tell you about the Nikon model H field microscope. I will show you nice photos and special information specific to this RED BOOK NIKKOR site.

I got the Nikon model H field microscope in January 2005. It was in good condition as good as new. I wrote this article in 2021, 16 years after I got it. Because this microscope was very attractive and it took me a lot of time to talk about her.

I decided the concept of the article was "Let's go to the bar with a microscope". It is neither an Antarctic research expedition, nor the space of the NASA Skylab project, much less a field hospital at the time of the Vietnam War. The microscope is cool at the bar. It's also good to have a high-class traditional bar.

It's a bit too early for a gimlet. First of all, coffee time at the membership club lounge. Here you can drink coffee in a cup designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.

Executive businesspeople are having business talks in the club lounge during this time. But no one has a microscope. This is a bit of a problem.

Old Imperial Bar

The Imperial Hotel, Tokyo in the 1930s

The image is from Akiyama's old postcard collection. The moon is rising. It's not a crescent moon, but a twenty-six night moon. It is not midsummer because the lotus leaves in the pond are dead. It was assumed to be December from the color temperature of the night sky. I investigated the time when it would be the 26th night moon around Christmas in December in the early 1930s. It was identified as Friday, December 23, 1932. Yes, it's December 1932 (Showa 7). There is no doubt.

This historic building was closed in 1967 (Showa 42). After that, it was demolished and a part of the building was relocated to the Museum MEIJI-MURA. If I was born around 1884, I would have seen this divine sight. Unfortunately, I have no experience or memory of the Imperial Hotel at that time.

Go to Old Imperial Bar

The main bar of the Imperial Hotel is the Old Imperial Bar. Located on the mezzanine floor of the main building. Frank Lloyd Wright, an American architect, designed the former main building of the Imperial Hotel, commonly known as the Wright Building. The ruins of the old main building remain in the Old Imperial Bar.

When you enter the bar, you will travel back in time to the 1930s. Here is the background of the historical events that appear in the modern history of Japan. You can see that by visiting an old bar with a Nikon research-grade microscope.

This glamorous cocktail lounge is a Tokyo favorite, with charming relics from the Wright Building, the 1923 Imperial of worldwide fame.
