1500mm and 3000mm Anemometric Theodolite 1930 A theodolite for pilot balloon observation, which measured the direction and speed of wind using a pilot balloon. It measured the direction and angle of elevation of the target (pilot balloon) from a scale. Its telescope was L-shaped for easy viewing, and the scale was illuminated for night-time observation.

Anemometric Theodolite 1930 Type 3 Drift Sight 1944
A plane drifts during a flight,
resulting in a difference between the heading direction and the actual flight direction.
This difference is called the "drift angle".
To correctly land at the destination, the plane must fly while measuring this drift angle
and correcting the flight course.
