Calypso PHOT 1961 Calypso PHOT 1961 An amphibious camera developed by La Spirotechnique (now Aqua Lung International), a French manufacturer of diving equipment. Nikon (then Nippon Kogaku) released the amphibious camera NIKONOS in cooperation with La Spirotechnique the following year.
NIKONOS WHITE 1963 NIKONOS WHITE 1963 The color of the exterior rubber parts of this camera were changed from black to white to make it easier to find if it was dropped in the ocean. This is one of the earliest NIKONOS model cameras, and only a few were manufactured.
CALYPSO / NIKKOR 1968 CALYPSO / NIKKOR 1968 A modified NIKONOS II for export to Europe. The film rewind knob was changed to a foldble film rewind crank to enable fast film rewinding. Nikon F2 750 MF-2 750 exposure magazine back for Nikon F2MD When used with 100 feet film, this magazine back enabled the photographer to take approximately 750 photographs. At the time, it was a made-to-order product.
