Nikon Kenkyukai Tokyo Meeting S Nikkor 8.5cm F1.5 Special As you know, Nikon Corporation announced the release of the reproduction Nikon SP LIMITED EDITION with 35mm F1.8 lens on January 14th, 2005. Only 2,500 units were made and only available in Japan. Nikon began sales of the Nikon SP LIMITED EDITION on March 18th, 2005. The Tokyo meeting was held at next day. Of course, the member already had the new Nikon SP LE!! The main theme of the meeting was the special research of Nikkor 8.5cm F1.5 for the rangefinder Nikon. Several members brought their beautiful lenses and cameras. And then, second theme of the meeting was the Nikon S motor show. Also, the rare pistol camera with Cine-Nikkor and Mikron were walking on the table. The meeting was held in Haccho-bori in Tokyo near Ginza. We enjoyed meeting in the Japanese spring air of the brilliant light.

The number of Nikkor 8.5cm F1.5 lenses manufactured is small. Even less for the Leica L39 screw mount Nikkor 8.5cm F1.5. I was surprised that a special filter was made for such a small number of lenses.
