INDUSTRIAL MICRO LENS

How to Use the Rayfact

The Nikon Rayfact MJ 90mm F4 lens is available in the same Nikon F mount as for Nikon SLR cameras. I recommend you the Nikon F mount model. You can mount Rayfact lens on your Nikon SLR camera without modification.

Infinity with F mount

Infinity is not possible with Nikon SLR cameras. Nikon SLR cameras only allow close-up photography.

Infinity with Z mount

You can mount the Nikon Rayfact MJ 90mm F4 lens to your Nikon Z by mount adapter FTZ or mount adapter FTZ II. However, it cannot reach infinity, so it is only used for close-up photography.

How to Get Infinity

You can easily reach infinity with Nikon Rayfact MJ 90mm F4 lens by using a thin mount adapter. I made a low-cost and easy thin F to Z mount adapter using the following materials.

M42-Z Mount Adapter

Thin mount adapter with M42 mount on the lens side and Z mount on the camera side.

Just attach the F-M42 adapter to the M42-Z adapter to complete the thin F-Z mount adapter.

Nikon is Good for Adapter

I have added a Nikon E2 ring to the mount adapter. In this state, it reaches infinity. As Nikon has high precision, Nikon is good for adapter, too.

Built-in Helicoid

The Nikon Rayfact MJ 90mm F4 lens has a built-in focal helicoid. Therefore, from infinity to close-up photography is possible in this state.

Filter and Hood

The attachment size for this lens is 52mm P=0.75. 52mm filters are a popular size for Nikon and are easily available. It also makes good use of the Nikon 52mm filters and Nikon lens hoods you already own.

Extreme Sharpness

The extreme sharpness and resolution of the Nikon Rayfact MJ 90mm F4 lens makes it particularly well suited for capturing the subtlety and nuances of facial expressions of flowers and the emotions they convey.
