Walk along Ginza Street

Ginza becomes a pedestrian zone on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. The pedestrian zone in Ginza stretches along the main shopping street called Chuo-dori which runs from East to West. Let's walk to the Nikon Kenkyukai venue.

Matsushima Optical Shop

In front of Matsuya department store, there is Matsushima optical shop. The second floor of Matsushima optical shop is dedicated to optical products for specialists. You can buy Zeiss surgical binoculars and Nikon aspheric lenses for ophthalmologists.

MEIDI-YA, Kyobashi Tokyo

The venue for this month's Nikon Kenkyukai is Kyobashi, just beyond Ginza. Close to the venue is the MEIDI-YA Building. According to the company history, MEIDI-YA was founded in Meiji 18 (1985). And this beautiful MEIDI-YA building was built in Showa 8 (1933).

This month's theme was very unusual. We researched the 708 Nikkor 5cm F2 and 707 EL Nikkor 5cm F3.5 lenses. We saw a scarce lens and the instruction manual on the collection table.

We took pictures with Nikon digital 6091 and old EL Nikkor No. 70794. In this state, focus was achieved at about 5 meters. It was a very nice picture with an old EL Nikkor.
