The Nikon Museum Special Exhibition
Dates: October 2, 2018 (Tue) - December 27, 2018 (Thu) Nikon Museum is holding a special exhibition entitled "Prototype Lenses - Fascinating Images Captured by the Nikon Z 7 Mirrorless Camera" from October 2 to December 27, 2018. In this exhibition, Nikon will exhibit approximately 60 prototypes of interchangeable lenses for SLR cameras produced from the 1950's to the 1980's. Each prototype was developed to test and verify new designs, functions and mechanics, and embodies the hard work and dedication of the developers. However, since many such prototypes were destroyed after testing, there have been few opportunities to exhibit them to the general public. This is a very rare exhibition and includes prototype lenses that never reached the mass production stage. Nikon also exhibit photos taken by combinations of the 10 prototype lenses and the new Nikon Z 7 full-frame mirrorless camera released on August 23. You can experience the imaging capability of these prototype lenses by viewing photos taken with Nikon's latest mirrorless camera.
